AVANT-GARDE – experimental cinema seeking new ways of expression

Przeźrocze in Polish language is an old, retro 35mm, analogue slide. The Przeźrocza Film Festival has taken place annually since 2015, showcasing new directions of films while making explicit references to the classics. In the programme of event the audience finds a link between the analogue past and the digital present. We are influenced by the heritage of Kazimierz Katabasz – revolutionist of the 60ties (director born in Bydgoszcz) and concurrently we are searching for new creators of film language nowadays. Each day of the festival is an intergenerational meeting of younger and older film directors. Przeźrocza Film festival pays tribute to the masters of the past while presenting the latest, new-style pictures that set new boundaries of the film art.
